Glossary of  Dental Terminology Hand Over Mouth........apparently the Dentist I took my children too is a user of this technique.
I was told that I pampered my child and he needed discipline. I was scolded and yelled at and accused of being a bad parent...("If you were a good parent...") This dentist also told me that as a nurse I didn't know anything about how to deal with a patient in a dentist chair. I know for a fact that as a nurse I would more than likely get my liscense suspended if I yelled at a patient or resident of mine to shut the fuck up if they cried or yelled while I was doing a dressing change or treatment.
I was told that the only reason I took my son to get his teeth extracted by him was to "make the Dentist the bad guy". This Dr. had defensive written all over him. He said that since George didn't tell me that day that he had a problem with the dentist that it wasn't a problem for him(George). That he was afraid because we as his parents instilled fear into him of Dr's. Which I told him was not true. IF anything I tell my kids to cooperate with the Dr.'s so they can do thier jobs. I'm still not sure what to do with this situation because George insists that it did happen. I choose to believe my son. He said that George sat there and cried like a baby. Well, gee, I don't know many 5-6 year olds that don't cry when they are that stressed out. Sweet Jesus, this Dr. is definitely a psycho!!!

So, while I am cooking 'breakfast for dinner' tonight,my son says, "Mommy, when I was crying at the dentist he told me to 'shut the fuck up' and held his hand over my mouth so it hurt."
Hmmmmmm, guess I'm going to have to ruin this dentists life tommorow when I bring this to light with both him and the ADA.

Why do people have to be such total assholes?

Did I mention that my son is only 6. He was probably 5 when this happened.
